Kerith Strano Taylor, a Democrat, announced Thursday her candidacy for Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District.

Strano Taylor owns a law firm, with a focus on family law, in Brookville.

She has run against incumbent U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard Township, twice before — in 2014 and 2016.

Thompson has served in Congress since 2009.

“Glenn Thompson’s record shows that he does not care about our people ...,” Strano Taylor said in a press release. “Thompson votes for higher taxes on working families and students and taking away health care, while protecting big banks, hedge fund managers, and polluters and sending our tax dollars to other parts of the country. Who is Glenn Thompson working for? Not me. And not you.”

Strano Taylor will face Marc Friedenberg in the Democratic primary, slated for May 15.

The 5th Congressional District is the largest in Pennsylvania — stretching from Erie to south of Huntingdon and encompassing all or part of 16 counties.
