How much snow will we get in the next 24 hours?
An Alberta clipper is causing snow in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions Tuesday.
The greatest snowfall will not hit central Pennsylvania, but Centre County will get enough to cause poor road conditions and reduced visibility.
State College will get 3 to 4 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, which has put the county under a winter weather advisory. AccuWeather has said there is a 50 percent chance the Centre Region will get up to 3 inches of snow and a 36 percent chance for up to 6 inches.
“A slow moving frontal boundary and disturbance aloft will bring an extended period of light to occasionally moderate snow to the region today and tonight, with several inches of snow accumulation by early Wednesday,” the NWS said in its advisory.
The NWS advisory is also in effect for Philipsburg, Altoona, Lock Haven, Williamsport and Selinsgrove.
Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District issued a two-hour delay Tuesday. Superintendent Gregg Paladina attributed the delay to severe weather conditions, particularly in Clearfield County.
