How much is it going to snow? Enough to cancel your evening plans
It’s not a snow day, but a winter storm is causing after-school activities to be canceled.
Local school districts and organizations have announced a variety of cancellations.
PIAA events for Penns Valley and State College and all after-school events for Bellefonte and Bald Eagle area school districts have been called off. The Healthier Moshannon Valley YMCA free education event has also been canceled.
An Alberta clipper has caused widespread snowfall in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions.
State College will get 3 to 4 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, which has put the county under a winter weather advisory until 5 a.m. Wednesday. AccuWeather has updated its forecast and said there is a 23 percent chance the region will get up to 6 inches.
The NWS advisory is also in effect for Philipsburg, Altoona, Lock Haven, Williamsport and Selinsgrove.
Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District issued a two-hour delay Tuesday and has not announced any changes to after-school activities.
