A local store recently closed. They plan to relocate this summer.
The party won’t stop — it’s just on a hiatus.
Party City recently closed its doors, promising to be back by the summer.
Company representatives have not responded to requests for comment, but signs on the front door indicate the business will move to the Benner Pike Shops plaza.
Two possible locations for Party City include 317 and 319 Benner Pike, which are next to Speedy Furniture and have about 7,200-square-feet of space, according to Metro Commercial. The former Cato Fashions location has about 4,000-square-feet of space, which is less than half the size of the party supplier’s typical store.
It is unknown what will replace Party City’s original location.
The local move isn’t the only reason Party City has made recent headlines.
The company recently pulled a TV commercial that referred to gluten-free people as “gross.” Party City released a statement that apologized for its “insensitive ad” and said it would make a donation to an undisclosed organization in support of celiac disease research.
