Here’s what’s next for Celebration Hall and Hoag’s Catering
Despite any rumors to the contrary, Hoag’s Catering and Event Rentals is still alive and cooking after putting its former headquarters at Celebration Hall in State College on the market last year.
The sale to Unity Church of Jesus Christ was finalized in January and the catering and event service is already busy renovating its new office and kitchen space in Summit Park at 3500 E. College Ave. in State College.
“We’re basically five minutes from where we were before,” owner Cyril Moerschbacher said.
While work on the new location continues, the company will continue to rent the kitchen at Celebration Hall and remain open for business, offering a majority of the same services that were available prior to the move. Banquets and meetings will be hosted off-site.
Moerschbacher said that part of the appeal of the Summit Park space is that unlike the layout at Celebration Hall, the finished kitchen will be located entirely on one floor, making it easier to load food for transport.
“If we save 10 percent of our time loading and unloading that’s a big deal for us,” Moerschbacher said.
