State police mourning the sudden death of Tron, a K-9 assigned to Rockview
State Trooper Christopher Massari is mourning the loss of his partner, a 9-year-old German shepherd named Tron.
Pennsylvania State Police announced the K-9 died from a sudden medical condition Friday. Tron was assigned to Troop G, Rockview in Centre County. He was one of six state police explosive detection K-9 teams.
“He was known for his boisterous disposition and constant barking,” PSP wrote in a release. “He could be heard approaching a scene from a significant distance away.”
Tron worked with Massari for his entire career.
“He was involved in numerous high-profile incidents throughout his career and kept untold numbers of citizens safe,” the release said. “Rest easy, K-9 Tron. Thank you for your service.”
