One dead in single-vehicle crash in Spring Township, coroner’s office says
One person is dead after an early Sunday morning single-vehicle crash on Zion Road in Spring Township, according to the Centre County Coroner’s Office.
The vehicle was traveling east on Zion Road when it left the roadway and crashed in a field. The unidentified driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, Centre County Deputy Coroner Debra Smeal said in a news release.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at about 2 a.m. Sunday. An autopsy will be performed on Monday, Smeal said.
Bellefonte EMS, Logan Fire Company, Undine Fire Company, Centre County Emergency Management Agency and Bellefonte Police Department assisted at the scene. The investigation is being conducted by the Spring Township Police Department and the coroner’s office.
