1 person injured after 7-vehicle crash on North Atherton Street, police say

Ferguson Township police responded Monday afternoon to a seven-vehicle pileup on North Atherton Street.

The crash took place just before 2 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Atherton Street, near West Cherry Lane, according to a press release. One 86-year-old female driver had lacerations and contusions and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.

The initial investigation found that the vehicle operated by the injured woman struck several vehicle while driving between both northbound travel lanes. Those vehicles then struck others, according to the news release.

Patton Township police, Centre Lifelink EMS, Alpha Fire Police, Alpha Fire Department, Tennis Towing and Stewarts Towing assisted Ferguson Police with the crash. Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
