‘Customers who became like family.’ Pleasant Gap eatery closes doors after 30 years

A Pleasant Gap eatery is shutting its doors after three decades in business.

Rony’s Place Restaurant and Pizzeria, 276 W. College Ave., Pleasant Gap, announced it is permanently closing “due to circumstances beyond (its) control.” In a Facebook post Wednesday morning, owners thanked their many customers over their 30 years in business.

“We had a lot of friends and customers who became like family to us! My kids grew up in this place and my grandkids got their start here! (We) miss our ‘home’ as much as you all do!” the post states.

The owners are not currently looking to lease or to sell the building, according to the post.

As the name suggests, Rony’s Place served pizza as well as sandwiches, subs, wraps, salads and other Italian meals. In addition, they had breakfast items in the morning. Many customers commented on the Facebook post about how much they miss and love the family restaurant, with praise for their subs, pizzas and cheesesteaks.
