Coroner called to scene of crash in Snow Shoe, extended road closure expected
The Centre County coroner was dispatched Friday afternoon to a vehicle crash in Snow Shoe, with the roadway expected to be closed for an extended period.
All lanes of East Sycamore Road (state Route 144) between Fountain Road and the Citgo Truck Plaza were closed at about 12:20 p.m., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. At about 1 p.m., the coroner was called to the scene, according to dispatch reports.
“Please avoid the area of Fountain Road at East Sycamore Road as well as Route 144,” Snow Shoe Fire Company posted on Facebook. “The roadway will be closed for an extended period of time due to a vehicle accident.”
PennDOT expects the roadway to reopen by 5 p.m.
Emergency crews were called to the scene after a report that a full size pickup T-boned into a passenger car, Snow Shoe Fire posted. It’s unclear how many people were in the vehicles or whether others were injured.
