Traveling from Centre County to see Big Boy No. 4014 in central PA? Share your photos!
Big Boy No. 4014 is passing through central Pennsylvania on its cross-country journey to celebrate the semiquincentennial, and the world’s largest operating steam locomotive is sure to draw crowds from near and far.
The 1.2 million-pound train operated by Union Pacific Railroad Company was scheduled for a whistle stop in Lewistown on Wednesday afternoon before traveling through the Juniata Valley en route to Altoona.
Big Boy will be in Altoona, known as the Railroad City, from Thursday through Saturday, with public access from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Railroaders Memorial Museum.
