Cyclist injured in State College

A cyclist was injured after being struck Saturday in State College.

According to police, at about 6:10 p.m., Nicholas Doria, 19, of State College was traveling west along West Hamilton Avenue when he stopped at the intersection at South Allen Street. When he proceeded through the intersection, he struck Alsayed Alfiky, 29, of State College.

The accident disabled Alfiky’s bicycle, police said, and he was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for wrist and leg pain.

Alfiky was wearing a black jacket, black gloves, dark jeans and a black helmet, police said, and was riding with no bicycle light. He was cited for not having a headlight.
