The driver of a tractor trailer heading eastbound on Interstate 80 sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle he was operating Thursday night traveled off the right lane shoulder.
The incident occurred near mile marker 144.
The driver, Gerald Cook, 74, had a valid driver’s license issued in Arizona. According to a press release from the state police, Cook was flown to the Altoona Hospital. At this time, his condition is unknown.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and police do not yet know what caused the driver to veer off the roadway.
