Expect rainy days, no snow before mild Christmas

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas in the East, cross that dream off your wish list.

Mother Nature is tied up, across the West, delivering heaping amounts of snow for many.

With temperatures nearing 50 degrees on Christmas Eve, if you’re traveling by plane, bus or maybe train, you won’t find many reasons to complain.

Rain might slow you down a bit next week. The National Weather Service forecasts rain on Wednesday.

With three days until the official start of winter, it’s feeling more like spring. The mild weather pattern that has dominated Centre County for the past few weeks just doesn’t want to relinquish its reach.

While temperatures won’t be in the 60s, like last Sunday, temps will leap back into the 50s in just a few days.

If you’re heading out Friday night, button up, because temps will drop into the low to mid 20s, according to the National Weather Service.

If only a fast moving low pressure area would swing through, but that isn’t slated to happen, so mostly cloudy skies will have to do.

Saturday is mostly cloudy — a great day for a Sunday cruise as temps will climb to a high 31.

If you intend on going outside, make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

On Sunday, temps will lunge toward 40, expect Sunny skies as temporary, high pressure arrives.

The National Weather service says temps will continue to rise through Monday.

Showers and fog may even cause delays on roadways. Be careful if you’re traveling on Interstate 99 or state Route 322, as temperatures leap into the mid 40s Monday.
