A Penn State student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center on Saturday afternoon after a vehicle-motorcycle crash in Patton Township.

Patton Township police Sgt. Tyler Jolley said Laurel Sanders, a State College woman operating a 2009 Ford Flex, was headed north on North Atherton Street when she attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Colonnade Boulevard.

While turning, she struck Xiaoyang Guo, of State College, who was headed south on North Atherton Street on a motorcycle, Jolley said.

Jolley said Sanders did not sustain injuries, but the motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital by Centre Life Link EMS.

Jolley said he didn’t know the severity of the injuries, but said they were “not life threatening.”

The crash was reported at about 2:32 p.m., and the intersection was closed for about 45 minutes, Jolley said.

He did not know if either driver was charged.

Alpha Fire Company assisted Patton Township police with traffic control.
