Motorists traveling near University Drive in State College faced delays Thursday after the road was closed following a single-vehicle crash at about 2 p.m.

University was closed between Easterly Parkway and Nimitz Avenue, police said, after a vehicle heading northbound on University went off the side of the road, hitting a utility pole and bringing the lines down.

The driver refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

West Penn Power worked to replace the pole and the downed lines, police said. The road was reopened at about 8 p.m.
