More than 10,000 people made their way to the Bryce Jordan Center to watch Lil Wayne, also known as Dwayne Carter, perform in concert Saturday night.

The enthusiastic crowd quickly saw that Carter had more than just music on his mind.

The four-time Grammy winner — who has been arrested in the past for marijuana-related charges — smoked several cigars containing an unknown substance and lobbied for decriminalization of pot throughout the concert.

On Monday, Penn State police Chief Mike Lowery said he didn’t know if Carter was smoking marijuana but noted that “smoking is not permitted in the Bryce Jordan Center and that rule is enforced by the Bryce Jordan staff.”

He said there were “a couple of alcohol-related incidences and that there were some issues with some of the people in the audience.”

Bernie Punt, director of sales and marketing at the Bryce Jordan Center, did not respond to questions regarding Carter’s smoking on Saturday, nor did Penn State spokeswoman Lisa Powers.
