A Blair County woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Tuesday, and two children in her car were taken to UPMC Altoona, according to state police at Hollidaysburg.
Police said in a release that none wore seat belts at the time of the crash at Walnut Street in Catherine Township.
The crash occurred when Ethel Marie Risbon, 52, of Williamsburg, drove east on state Route 2015. The vehicle left the road when she tried to turn at a left-hand curve and sideswiped a legally parked vehicle.
Risbon’s vehicle then crashed into two bags of garbage and a road sign before it was again on the road for about two-tenths of a mile before leaving the right side of the road hitting an embankment. The vehicle flipped, rolled over twice and ejected Risbon and the child riding in the front. The child in the rear of the vehicle crawled out after it stopped.
