National Weather Service issues severe thunderstorm warning
Heavy rain touched down in Centre County at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The thunderstorm, moving at about 20 mph in a southeast direction, could hit hardest in Pleasant Gap, Centre Hall, Millheim, Coburn and Spring Mills, according to the National Weather Service. The storm is producing quarter-sized hail, increasingly heavy rain and deadly cloud to ground lightning.
The National Weather Service’s thunderstorm warning is in effect until 3:15 p.m.
Damage to vehicles is expected. The NWS advises that people stay inside during the storm.
