A one-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Pine Township, Clearfield County, killed a 71-year-old man.
William P. Craig, of Reynoldsville, was driving east on Rockton Mountain Highway when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason, according to a report from state police at Clearfield.
It traveled 241 feet along the shoulder, according to police, before leaving the roadway completely and striking a small embankment.
The vehicle turned over once and then caught fire, police said.

Police said Craig succumbed to his injuries.
Lawrence Township Fire Department, Clearfield EMS, the Clearfield County coroner and A.J. Ross Towing assisted at the scene.
