Motorcycle crashes into bear

A Beech Creek man suffered moderate injuries when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into a bear.

Stephen Fravel, 43, was traveling west on Sand Springs Road toward Beech Creek Mountain Road in Beech Creek Township on Monday night. His Honda 650 motorcycle crashed into a bear and lost control, according to state police at Lamar.

Fravel was taken by Beech Creek EMS for treatment, police said.
