These are 2019’s most popular baby names at Mount Nittany Medical Center
Grayson put an end in 2019 to Benjamin’s two-year run as the most popular name for boys born at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Jackson, Noah, Alexander and Gabriel rounded out the top-five boys’ names. Charlotte took the top spot for girls’ names, and was followed by Ella, Hannah, Isabella and Harper, hospital spokeswoman Anissa Ilie said.
Alexander and Harper are the only names to be in the hospital’s top five each of the past three years.
The popularity of the names Grayson, Jackson and Noah extends beyond Centre County. Those three names also ranked in the top five of BabyCenter’s worldwide list of most popular names in 2019.
None of the top five girls’ names at MNMC cracked BabyCenter’s top five, though Isabella was No. 6. The hospital had 1,246 live births as of Monday morning, Ilie said.
The most popular names for boys during the 2010s nationwide were Noah, Liam, Jacob, Mason and Williams, according to data from the Social Security Administration.
Emma, Sophia, Olivia, Isabella and Ava were the most popular names for girls during the same period, according to the SSA.
