Emergency crews respond to ‘well-involved’ garage fire in Halfmoon Township

Port Matilda and Alpha fire companies were dispatched to a “well-involved” garage fire at 1901 Halfmoon Valley Road Friday evening.

Crews were first dispatched to the residence in Halfmoon Township at 7:10 p.m. Once on scene, firefighters were quickly able to knock down the flames before the fire spread to the adjacent home.

No injuries were reported, but one animal was killed in the blaze, according to Alpha.

Boalsburg, Warriors Mark and Bald Eagle fire companies also responded. Philipsburg was on standby at the Port Matilda station.
