Motorists told to expect ‘minor delays’ on Route 45 in Potter Township due to upcoming roadwork
A monthlong paving project is set to begin Monday on state Route 45 in Potter Township, between Hoot Road and Bonnie Street, and motorists should expect “minor delays,” according to the state Department of Transportation.
The roughly two-mile stretch of roadwork, which amounts to a $1 million project, is expected to be completed by mid-June. It includes drainage improvements, base repair and roadway resurfacing.
Until it’s finished, however, flaggers will force an alternating traffic pattern during the day.
“This project will enhance safety, improve ride quality and extend the useful life of more than two miles of roadway,” PennDOT said in a written statement.
According to PennDOT, the project will follow all COVID-19 safety plans and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, such as having the crew use face coverings while promoting social-distancing.
The construction will be overseen by State College’s Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc.
