4th Fest is off, but the fireworks part of the celebration will continue. Here’s how
Although the annual Central Pennsylvania 4th Fest is canceled, Centre County residents will still be able to celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show.
Continuing the show’s 20-year history, the festival will put on four simultaneous fireworks displays at secure locations throughout the Centre Region. Beginning at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, the shoot sites will be comprised of shells that can be seen from a distance and will be electronically linked for synchronization.
“As we follow health guidelines, we want the community to celebrate our Independence Day in a safe and spectacular way,” 4th Fest Executive Director Frank Savino said in a statement.
A soundtrack will be broadcast on local radio, and the displays are expected to last 12-15 minutes.
Rain dates are scheduled for July 3 and 5.
Specific locations of the displays will be announced at a later date.
