Drivers, be prepared: Detour in effect along U.S. Route 322 Thursday for Potters Mills Gap project
Drivers traveling Thursday along U.S. Route 322 should expect to take a more scenic route to Happy Valley.
The state Department of Transportation plans to detour traffic from Potters Mills Gap to state Route 144, then Route 45 to allow construction workers to realign traffic patterns at the western end of the project.
The one-day detour is scheduled to be in effect from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The $82 million project that began in 2015 is about 61% completed, according to PennDOT. The four-lane extension is scheduled to be fully open to traffic in October.
