1-vehicle crash in Ferguson Township sends man to hospital, police say
A man whom police believe was intoxicated when he crashed his sedan during the wee hours Sunday in Ferguson Township was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
A 34-year-old Blair County man crashed about 1:35 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Pine Grove Road and Saint Elmos Lane, Ferguson Township police Chief Chris Albright wrote in an email.
The driver of the 2013 Hyundai Sonata was heading southbound on East Pine Grove Road when he crashed. He was “going too fast” through a turn, hit a guardrail, spun left and stopped partially hanging over an embankment of a stream, Albright wrote.
It took first responders about 15 minutes to stabilize the vehicle and free the man. A witness told police officers the man was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed, Albright wrote.
The driver was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
Alpha Fire Company and Centre LifeLink EMS also responded.
