Ferguson Township homeowner not injured after bullet shot into house, police say

A Ferguson Township homeowner avoided injury Thursday after an unknown shooter fired a bullet into their house, township police wrote in a statement Friday.

Someone likely fired a handgun at the home along the 4300 block of West Whitehall Road, police wrote. The shooting was reported about 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

The homeowner told officers he heard “loud bangs” as a vehicle passed. A bullet was found in an interior wall on the second floor, police wrote.

The shooting “appears random,” police wrote. A state police K-9 assisted in the investigation.

Police asked those with information about the shooting to call 800-479-0050 or email police@twp.ferguson.pa.us. Anonymous tips can be submitted online.
