Centre County mulls policy that would require unvaccinated employees to get weekly COVID tests
Unvaccinated Centre County employees could be tested weekly for COVID-19 if a new policy is approved by the county commissioners.
The change could affect dozens, if not hundreds, of county employees. The county’s decision-makers met Thursday to discuss a draft policy.
Commissioner Michael Pipe floated Dec. 30 as a date to potentially have the policy finalized. That’s tentative, much like several other key aspects of the potential policy. If approved, the change could go into effect in January.
The county government would be among the largest employers in Centre County to have such a requirement.
Penn State required all faculty and staff at University Park to be vaccinated in order to be compliant with an executive order.
