Man dead, police investigating after single-vehicle crash in Ferguson Township

A Halfmoon Township man who crashed Monday after driving through a hayfield in Ferguson Township died, the township’s police department said.

The 64-year-old — whose name was not immediately released — crashed a sedan about noon Monday along the 2100 block of West Gatesburg Road, township police Chief Chris Albright said.

The man was driving westbound, drifted into the field and crashed. He may have had a medical emergency prior to the crash, Albright said. An investigation is ongoing.

A dog that was in the car was uninjured, Albright said.

Port Matilda and Centre LifeLink EMS, West Penn Power, the Alpha Fire Department and the Centre County Coroner’s Office also responded.
