June is packed with festivals, events and celebrations in Centre County. Here are 10
July is a prime time for festivals in Centre County, including the return this year of the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, but June is also full of festivals, fairs and celebrations.
Here’s a look at 10 — from Pride, music and food events — to help you plan the month.
Rhoneymeade Fest 2022
June 3-5, at Rhoneymeade Arboretum in Centre Hall
Rhoneymeade is a three day experimental music and arts fest held in Centre Hall. The second annual event will feature food and drink vendors including Voodoo Brewery, Keystone Cultures Kombucha, Marin Eats and Rimmey Road Farm. Proceeds will go to Rhoneymeade, an arboretum in Centre Hall. Additional performances and art events will take place around downtown State College, integrated with First Friday. Tickets and a full lineup of artists can be found online.
Penns Cave Spring Tractor Show
June 3- 5, at 222 Penns Cave Road, Spring Mills
This event is hosted by the Mifflin County Antique Machinery Association, according to the association’s post on Facebook. Activities will start at 2 p.m. on June 3 at the Nittany Antique Machinery Association Flea Market.
Bellefonte Children’s Fair
June 4, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the intersection of Curtin and Armor streets
The Bellefonte Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting its 71st annual Children’s Fair, a tradition that celebrates the end of the school year and features local food and vendor booths. Discovery Space Center, the YMCA, the sheriff’s office and more will have booths at the fair. All proceeds go to improvements and playground equipment for local parks.
Lemont Strawberry Festival
June 11, 3-7 p.m., at the Lemont Village Green
The annual event hosted by Lemont Village Association is in its 40th year, featuring strawberries, ice cream, activities and granary tours. Tickets are $8 for teens and adults and $3 for children ages 5-12. There will be live music from 3-5 p.m. from Molly Countermine, Rene Witzke and Ken Baxter.
State College Pride
June 11, 3-8 p.m. at Sidney Friedman Park
State College held its first Pride festival last year, and the collaboration between Centre LGBTQA Support Network, the State College Borough, 3 Dots and the Downtown State College Improvement District is back. Anyone is welcome to march or participate in the parade, which will end at Sidney Friedman Park with music, magic and more at the main stage. A full list of other Pride events throughout June can be found online, including movie nights, self defense lessons and a drag show.
Juneteenth Liberation Week
June 13-18
State College’s second annual Juneteenth expands this year to a full week of events across Centre County to celebrate Black liberation in the United States. Events include a “Southern High Tea” at 3 Dots Downtown on June 14, an “Understanding the Underground” program about the Underground Railroad at the Bellefonte Art Museum on June 17 and a “Juneteenth Southern Soirée” at The Graduate Hotel on June 18. Historic Bellefonte Cruise
June 17-18, starting at 6 p.m. in downtown Bellefonte
This classic car and motorcycle show has been around since 1988, featuring classic, exotic and antique vehicles. The open night cruise starts at 6 p.m. on June 17, followed by a sock-hop. The Father’s Day weekend event has brought a crowd of more than 10,000 to downtown Bellefonte in past years. Those who want to enter cars or motorcycles can register online.
Acres of Music: The Summer of Love
June 18, 7-9:30 p.m., at The State Theatre, 130 W. College Ave., State College
Local bands will play the greatest hits of the ‘60s with all proceeds going to the Acres project, a local nonprofit that provides supportive services for adults with autism. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1960s fashion for the one night event. Tickets are $30 and can be bought online.
Millheim Walkfest of Arts and Music
June 24-26, starting at 2 p.m., on Penn and Main streets in downtown Millheim
The three-day event is organized by the East Penns Valley Community Business Association. Donations from the event go to the Millheim Fire Company, the East Penns Valley Library and the Millheim Pool. Last year’s Walkfest raised $1,000 in donations for the community. Summer Craft Beverage Expo
June 26, noon-3 p.m., Talleyrand Park, Bellefonte
Good Intent Cider and Big Springs Spirits are helping host the 5th annual expo, which will feature games, live entertainment and more. Tickets for those over 21 are $25 and designated drivers can get $10 discounted tickets. More information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
