1 dead in commercial vehicle crash on I-80 in Centre County, causing hourslong closure
One person died Sunday in a commercial vehicle crash that led to extended delays on a major highway in Centre County, state police at Rockview said.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Sunday along Interstate 80 eastbound in Snow Shoe Township, trooper Christopher Fox said. No other details were immediately available.
The eastbound lanes were closed between the Snow Shoe and Milesburg exits, about 10 miles, until about 12:40 a.m. Monday. Traffic was diverted to state Route 144.
There were two fatal crashes during the previous decade in Snow Shoe Township, the most recently available data from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation showed.
Twelve fatal crashes were reported over the same period in Rush Township, the most of any municipality in Centre County.
