Money stolen from State College-area convenience store, police asking public for help

Patton Township police turned to the public for help Thursday after money was stolen from a convenience store.

Officers were dispatched about 1:30 a.m. Thursday to the Port Matilda Uni-Mart, 5140 W. Buffalo Run Road, and found evidence that someone broke into the store, police wrote in a statement.

Someone attempted to pry open the cash registers and stole an undisclosed amount of money, police wrote. Those with information may call 800-479-0050.
