Live updates: Centre Gives, the 36-hour online giving event for local nonprofits, in final day

Centre Gives, Centre County’s 36-hour online giving event, officially got underway at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

That means you have until 8 p.m. Thursday to donate through Centre Foundation to your favorite local nonprofit organizations. During the 36-hour event, nonprofits will be posting updates and goals on their social media pages, and prizes will also be given out to nonprofits.

The event culminates Thursday with Centre Gives Fest from 5:30-9 p.m. in Talleyrand Park.

Strong start to day 2

Total community impact as of 9:15 a.m. Thursday: $1,433,326 via 8,292 gifts

$1 million and climbing

  • Total community impact as of 8:30 p.m.: $1,174,755 via 6,497 gifts
  • 3Dots Downtown won the “Million Maker” award ($250) for the gift that pushed the event over the milestone.

$6,500 in prizes awarded by Wednesday afternoon

  • Total community impact as of 2 p.m.: $705,810 via 3,311 gifts
  • Recent awards include: Stuckey Mitsubishi On the Road Again Power Hour - Large award ($500) to Strawberry Fields and Stuckey Mitsubishi On the Road Again Power Hour - Small award ($500) to Dyslexia Reading Center

More than $500,000 by noon Wednesday

  • Total community impact as of 11:15 a.m.: $541,393 via 2,114 gifts
  • First National Bank Give Where You Live Power Hour - Large award ($500) went to Discovery Space and The Rivet.
  • First National Bank Give Where You Live Power Hour - Small award ($500) went to State College Area Rowing.

Nearing $500,000 in first hours

  • Total community impact of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday: $446,431 via 1,248 gifts.
  • The Nestlerode & Loy Kick-Off Power Hour-Large award ($500) went to Schlow Library Foundation.
  • The Nestlerode & Loy Kick-Off Power Hour-Small award ($500) went to Centre County Historical Society at the Centre Furnace Mansion.
