Ready to dive into summer? Here’s when pools in Happy Valley will open for 2023 season
School is almost out, temperatures are rising, and swimming pools across Centre County will soon open for the 2023 season.
Kepler Pool in Bellefonte will remain closed for the season, according to the YMCA of Centre County’s website. The pool has been closed since September 2020 due to recurring mechanical issues and inspections. The Nittany Valley Joint Recreation Authority has been fundraising to refurbish and enhance Kepler Pool to meet “modern expectations.”

William L. Welch Community Pool
The William L. Welch Community Pool is located at 670 Westerly Parkway, State College.
Opening date: May 27
Hours: On weekends and holidays: adult swim/toddler time is 10 a.m.-noon, general swim from noon-8 p.m. and adult swim is 7-8 p.m.
Weekday hours for adult swim/toddler time are noon-1 p.m., general swim from 1-8 p.m. and adult swim is 7-8 p.m.
School weekdays, which are subject to change, is: May 30-June 1, general swim is 4:30-6:30 p.m. (cash admission only, $7 each) and June 2 and June 5, general swim is 1:30-6:30 p.m. (regular admission rates).
Daily admission: For Centre Region residents, $12 for ages 11-64, $10 for ages 3-10 and 65+, free for ages 2 and under, and $7 for ages 3+ after 5 p.m.
For non-residents, daily admission is $14 for ages 11-64, $12 for ages 3-10 and 65+, free for ages 2 and under, and $9 for ages 3+ after 5 p.m.
Season passes: For residents, season passes are $110 for ages 11-64, $85 for ages 3-10 and 65+, and $65 for weekdays after 5 p.m. and all day on weekends.
For non-residents, season passes are $165 for ages 11-64, $128 for ages 3-10 and 65+, and $98 for weekdays after 5 p.m. and all day on weekends.

Park Forest Community Pool
The Park Forest Community Pool is located at 2100 School Drive, Patton Township.
Opening date: May 27

Mountain Top Area Pool
The Mountain Top Area Pool is located at 225 Park Ave., Snow Shoe, just a 15 minute drive from Bellefonte and a 25 minute drive from State College.
Opening date: The pool association hopes to open June 5, but are up against staffing and water issues.
Hours: noon-6 p.m. daily
Daily admission: Adults $6, school age kids $5, under 5 $3, under 1 are free.
Season passes: New family memberships are $175, returning family members are $155, new individual memberships are $110 and returning individual memberships are $100.

Millheim Pool At Soldiers And Sailors Memorial Park
The Millheim Pool at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park, commonly known as the Millheim Pool, is located at 120 Park Entrance Road, Millheim.
Opening date: May 29, weather permitting
Hours: Noon until 9 p.m. and noon until 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday
Daily admission: Daily admission is $7, twilight (after 5 p.m.) is $4. Children under 3 are free.
Season passes: Twilight $85, individual is $150, twilight family is $155, family is $300.
