The Centre County District Attorney’s office warned residents of scam phone calls that appear to be from their office.

The incoming call appears as the office’s main number, 814-355-6735, and a male caller identifies himself as Detective Ralph Ralston, the DA’s office said in a news release. The caller says if the call is not returned and an interview is not completed, a bench warrant will be issued. It’s all a scam, likely an attempt to steal funds or personal information, the DA’s office said.

Residents should be cautious if they receive a call from this phone number and not give out personal information, the DA’s office said.

Anyone who thinks they may have received one of these spoof calls can contact the District Attorney’s office to verify the call.
