Expect delays on part of Interstate 80 in Centre County this week due to lane closures
Some drivers on Interstate 80 in Centre County should expect delays on Thursday due to single-lane closures for milling and paving work.
The right (travel) lane of I-80 eastbound and westbound between mile marker 165 and 168 near Jacksonville will be closed during daylight hours on Thursday. Work is weather dependent but expected to be completed by Friday, according to a news release from the state Department of Transportation.
The closures are part of a larger project to replace four bridges along I-80 as well as paving sections of I-80, Hubler Ridge and Sand Ridge roads. Glenn O. Hawbaker was contracted for the $22 million project, which is expected to continue into 2026.
PennDOT asked that drivers exercise caution and follow speed limits in all work zones. Additional information about conditions, including traffic delays and weather, can be found at 511PA.
