Cat euthanized after being thrown from moving vehicle near State College, police say

A cat was euthanized after being thrown from a moving vehicle Thursday in College Township, a State College police supervisor said.

The cat was thrown from a large SUV about 8:45 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of East College Avenue and Gerald Street, State College police Lt. Chad Hamilton said Monday. The vehicle was driving westbound.

The feline was seriously injured and was euthanized at VCA Metzger Animal Hospital, Hamilton said.

The department closed its investigation into the cat’s death because there are no cameras in the area and the person who reported it was unable to offer a detailed description of the SUV, Hamilton said.

Those with information about the cat’s death can contact the department via phone at 814-234-7150, email police@statecollegepa.us or submit an anonymous tip through its website.
