Helping hands: ‘Necessity, not a luxury.’ AIDS Resource now offers free menstrual products
AIDS Resource, a leading advocate for health equity, is proud to announce a new initiative to improve accessibility to menstrual hygiene products. Effective immediately, AIDS Resource will offer free tampons and pads at all its locations to support individuals in need within our community.
This initiative underscores AIDS Resource’s commitment to health equity. By offering free access to essential menstrual supplies, such as tampons and pads, AIDS Resource aims to alleviate the financial burden often associated with menstruation and to ensure all individuals have the necessary resources for their menstrual health.
We are proud to launch this initiative as part of our ongoing efforts to support the well-being and dignity of our community members. Menstrual hygiene products are a necessity, not a luxury, and everyone should have equitable access to them. We hope this initiative will promote menstrual health and reduce the stigma associated with periods.
The free tampons and pads are available for pick-up only at AIDS Resource offices (129 S. Sparks St. Suite 1 in State College and 500 W. 3rd St., Williamsport PA). Individuals seeking these products can simply stop by the office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.); no appointment is required, and the products can be accessed discreetly and without stigma.
