State College police launch shooting investigation in Boalsburg. Here’s what we know
State College police did not publicly rule out foul play Tuesday as detectives launched an investigation into a fatal shooting in Boalsburg.
Investigators were called about 5 a.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of Boal Avenue, borough police Lt. Bryan Foster told the Centre Daily Times. Detectives remained in the area until Tuesday evening. A state police forensic team assisted.
An investigation into the 35-year-old woman’s death is ongoing. When asked if there was any indication of foul play or if the death was believed to be suspicious, Foster would only say it was a shooting investigation.
No charges were filed as of Tuesday evening and there is no threat to the public, Foster said.
An autopsy was completed early Wednesday afternoon, Centre County Chief Deputy Coroner J.D. Kubalak told the CDT, referring further questions to State College police.
More details are expected to be released, Foster said. He did not share a timeline and the department said it would not share additional information Wednesday.
A message left with Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna was not returned Tuesday evening.
