Clinton County man hospitalized, Centre County woman cited after rush-hour crash on highway
A man was seriously injured during the Monday morning rush hour in a crash on a highway in rural Centre County.
A 67-year-old Clinton County man was driving northbound about 7:35 a.m. Monday on state Route 64 in Walker Township, state police at Rockview wrote in a crash report made public Wednesday.
An 18-year-old woman from Howard proceeded from a stop sign at the highway’s intersection with Hublersburg Road without proper clearance, police wrote. The man sideswiped her vehicle and then crashed his 1997 sedan into a concrete wall, police wrote.
He was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Williamsport, a state police at Rockview spokesman said Wednesday.
The woman was not injured, according to the report. She was cited Monday for a violation of duties at stop signs. No plea had been entered as of Wednesday afternoon.
There were 20 crashes with fatal or serious injuries in Walker Township during the most recent decade for which state Department of Transportation data is available. That was the third most in the Nittany Valley Region, trailing Spring Township (39) and Marion Township (22).
