Pedestrian injured, flown from the scene of Bellefonte area crash, police say
A busy road in the Bellefonte area was closed for nearly two hours Tuesday afternoon after a pedestrian crash that left a man in critical condition.
Spring Township police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Willowbank Street at 1:37 p.m., according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. Early investigations found that a 28-year-old Langhorne man ran into the path of a small dump truck traveling west in front of the Hot Dog house, police said.
The man was in critical condition at the scene and was transported by medical helicopter to UPMC Williamsport.
The investigation is ongoing and police said no charges are currently anticipated or pending against the driver of the dump truck.
Willowbank Street was closed about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday between Myrtle and Water streets in Spring Township, according to PennDOT’s real-time travel information service. All lanes reopened by about 3:40 p.m.
