Helping hands: Volunteers make Centre Volunteers in Medicine’s mission possible
April is Volunteer Month, and at Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), we are proud to celebrate the extraordinary individuals who make our mission possible. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of CVIM, donating their time, skills and compassion to ensure that uninsured residents of Centre County have access to free, high-quality health care.
Last year alone, 325 volunteers contributed over 13,500 hours of service. From physicians, dentists and nurses to interpreters, receptionists and event organizers, each volunteer is vital in delivering medical, dental, behavioral health, case management and medication assistance to our community. Their contributions allow us to stretch every dollar further and serve more people in need.
Volunteering at CVIM is more than a service; it is a shared commitment to compassion, dignity and respect. Whether a retired professional giving back or a student gaining hands-on experience, our volunteers help create a welcoming, supportive environment that extends far beyond the clinic walls.
To our current volunteers: thank you. Your commitment, generous hearts and selfless service form the foundation of everything we do. You meet each patient with kindness, lift our staff with your presence, and strengthen the CVIM community with your care. Whether you are here weekly or help once a year, your efforts leave a lasting impact on every life you touch. You are not only vital to our clinic — you are an inspiration to us all! We are truly thankful for you and honored to work alongside you in this mission of healing and hope.
