Helping hands: Altrusa International of Centre County hosts annual food drive

Altrusa International of Centre County is preparing to host its annual food drive, a tradition aimed at aiding local food banks and supporting those in need. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, July 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at two Centre County Weis Markets locations: one in Bellefonte on Buckaroo Lane and the other in State College on Rolling Ridge Drive.

The collected donations will benefit the food banks in Bellefonte and Snow Shoe, providing essential resources for families and individuals in the community. In previous years, the organization has achieved remarkable success, including donations exceeding $500 and 35 boxes of food.

What to donate

Altrusa International of Centre County encourages donors to bring/buy non-perishable food items, which are greatly needed by local food banks. Additionally, we are seeking donations of basic hygiene products, baby care essentials, and pet food to address a wide range of community needs. We are also accepting pet food and such items. These items will be sent to Happy Valley Animals in Need a local rescue organization.
