A Snow Shoe man died Friday after he crashed his motorcycle during the morning rush hour.
Aiden L. Andrews, 21, rear-ended an SUV at a high rate of speed about 7:15 a.m. Friday along the 300 block of Turnpike Street in Milesburg, state police at Rockview said in a crash report Monday. Both drivers were traveling southbound.
Andrews was transported from the scene by Bellefonte EMS and then flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Williamsport for treatment of serious injuries to his torso, police wrote. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Andrews died of multiple blunt force trauma, the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office said Monday. His death was ruled accidental.
The 51-year-old Bellefonte man driving the SUV was not injured, police wrote. Neither vehicle — a 2025 Suzuki GSXR and a 2021 Ford Ecosport — could be driven from the scene.
The Bald Eagle Area High School alumnus began working at the Bellefonte-area Dunkin’ shortly after graduating in 2022, according to his obituary. He started as a baker and was promoted to assistant manager, which his family said was a testament to his dedication, work ethic and leadership.
He loved the outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking. The native of China was also remembered as creative and multitalented, someone who enjoyed playing the guitar and expressing himself through art.
“When something captured his interest, he gave it his full focus and energy — determined, passionate, and driven in everything he pursued,” his obituary read. “He was a kind-hearted, confident, and outgoing young man whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his time with us was far too short, Aiden’s life was rich with love, laughter, and compassion.”
He is survived by his parents and three siblings. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for memorial contributions to Love Without Boundaries, a nonprofit charity that provides refuge to vulnerable children worldwide.
It appeared to be the first fatal motorcycle crash in Milesburg since 2008, according to state Department of Transportation statistics. An annual average of 1 1/2 such crashes were reported during the past decade in Centre County.
