64-year-old man dies after single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Centre County

A man died Thursday during a morning rush-hour crash on a major highway in Centre County.

Douglas W. Huling, 64, of Lycoming County, was ejected about 7:05 a.m. Thursday in a rollover crash on Interstate 80 in Boggs Township, state police at Rockview said in a crash report.

Huling was traveling westbound until he abruptly swerved toward the median, police said. He struck a snow embankment and then his 2014 Ford F-150 XLT overturned multiple times.

Troopers said Huling was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, the Centre County Coroner’s Office said in a press release. The investigation is ongoing.

One lane of I-80 was closed after the crash, but has since reopened. Snow Shoe Fire Co., Snow Shoe EMS, and S&R Towing assisted.

“Thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family, as well as all the first responders on scene,” the fire company said in a Facebook post.
