Irvin offers safe driving class for seniors

State Rep. Rich Irvin, R-Spruce Creek Township, is offering a safe driving program for older adults.

The event will take place 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. April 28 at the Fellowship Center at Westminster Woods, 360 Westminster Drive, Huntingdon.

“This is a great program that offers a lot of important information on managing vehicle speed, night driving and other challenges older drivers may encounter,” said Irvin. “I encourage area seniors to check it out.”

This class is for first-time attendees, as well as those just needing a refresher course.

The program is open for seniors age 55 and older. There is no actual driving or exam, but Irvin’s office said that after the class, motorists will be eligible to receive a minimum 5 percent discount on their auto insurance.

Individuals interested in attending the class can register online at www.SeniorsForSafeDriving.com or call 800-559-4880. The cost is $16.

For additional information, call Irvin’s district office at 644-2996.
