Mountaintop boil water notice lifted
The boil water notice for Mountaintop Regional Water Authority customers has been lifted.
According to authority board Chairman Jim Yost, the notice was officially lifted by the state Department of Environmental Protection on Wednesday afternoon.
The water needs to be tested two days in a row with four tests around the system and have them all come back positive.
The boil water notice had been in place for more than two weeks. Mountaintop water authority serves about 1,300 customers in Burnside Township, Snow Shoe borough and Snow Shoe Township.
Multiple organizations have donated bottled water to help area residents who have been affected.
