Centre County woman killed in fire that also destroyed her home. Investigation ongoing

A Centre County woman was killed Thursday in a fire that also destroyed her home.

Patricia A. Langham, 78, died after the fire began about 12:30 p.m. Thursday along the 300 block of Apple Street in Unionville, state police at Rockview wrote in a public information release.

An investigation is ongoing. A message left with the Centre County Coroner’s Office was not immediately returned Thursday evening.

A portion of Chestnut Street was closed while first responders from about a dozen agencies worked in the area throughout Thursday afternoon.

Fire companies who responded to the scene include those in Walker Township, Milesburg, Logan and Undine fire companies in Bellefonte, Alpha Fire Company in State College, Port Matilda, Snow Shoe, Pleasant Gap, Boalsburg, Beech Creek and Lock Haven.
