Interstate 80 near Milesburg reopens after hourslong closure due to vehicle fire
A vehicle fire closed a portion of Interstate 80 westbound in Centre County for several hours Tuesday afternoon.
All lanes were closed on I-80 westbound between Exit 178 (US 22 North - Lock Haven) and Exit 158 (Alt. US 22 South/PA 150 - Milesburg), according to the state’s 511PA site. The closure occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. and the roadway reopened by 7:30 p.m.
The fire involved a tractor-trailer, according to a Facebook post from Pleasant Gap Fire Company. The Bellefonte area experienced heavy traffic while traffic was rerouted.
